Highlights from the Malcove Collection


UTAC Director, Niamh O'Laoghaire discusses various aspects of two works by Oskar Schlemmer: Person Holding a Brush, and Head of a Girl Turned to the Left.

 

 

Lillian Malcove purchased  both of these works from Spencer A. Samuels and Co. , New York in 1969. This work is part of the Malcove Collection, a permanent collection donated to the University of Toronto in 1982 and now one of the University of Toronto Art Centre's three permanent collections.  The discussion is presented in a three part playlist. The Malcove Collection Video project is supported by Janet Dewan and Barbara Tangney in memory of Marian F.K. Ade.
