Constellations represents an immersive and interactive installation which engages the senses and encourages investigation, exploration, and discovery through the works of four artists and two artist collectives.
The playful, immersive spaces of Crave Crawl Cave, created by Claro Cosco, Grey Muldoon, and Piffin Duvekot consists of tactile rooms which encourage their inhabitants to communicate through the senses alone. Crawl or crouch through mysterious dome-shaped pods each of which contains an interactive, multi-sensory environment made up of textures, lighting effects, sounds, and smells.
Matthew Jarvis Wall invites viewers to explore fantastical generative landscapes, sculpture, and architecture in his virtual installation, “SIGNET”. Visitors can guide themselves through immersive brooding realms using video game consoles to navigate.
Elegant, multi-legged mechanical beings will be brought to life by human contact in the University College quad. Turn the crank to make them go! Jansen Walkers are kinetic, interactive sculptures developed by Theo Jansen and recreated in U of T workshops led by Anmol Kaur and the Spark Design Collective.
Discover mysterious earthen golems rising from the ground in the centre of University College quad. These creations by the XXXX Collective suggest a slowly awakening bodily presence emerging from the earth. Tread softly.
